Now
A snapshot of what's on my desk right now. What's a /now page? — Inspired by Derek Sivers's idea: a public answer to "what are you up to?" that's more honest than a status update.
Working on at PwC
- CCTNS — leading citizen-services design for the Ministry of Home Affairs. Currently in pilot rollout. Mentoring 5 designers across the engagement.
- Shell — Pacific Platform — refining Insight.AI on the budget surface based on early-cycle finance-leader feedback. Iterating the explain affordances.
- Torrent — Patient App — recently shipped to public release. Watching first-month retention closely; family-member workflows are queued for v2.
Building (side projects)
- Stabilising CLAUDE.md Exporter for public release. Output format is the bottleneck — Claude Code's preferred system context shape keeps evolving.
- Polishing Design System Validator's rule-engine docs so consumer designers can contribute custom rules.
- Considering an open-source release of Conversation Flow Generator — has proven itself across CCTNS, Shell, and Central Union Bank engagements.
- This portfolio — every week brings new ideas to test. Source on GitHub.
Reading
- Designing Design Systems — Dan Mall (re-read; still the best practical book on system governance)
- Working in Public — Nadia Asparouhova (on the politics of open-source maintenance — relevant to Figma plugins shared with consumer designers)
- Anthropic's research blog — every published post since the Claude 4.6 release
- UX writing for AI products — currently the rarest, most underdocumented skill in the discipline
Listening to
- Lex Fridman's recent technology-policy interviews
- Practical AI podcast — episodes on agentic workflows in production
- Hindi indie music when shipping high-stakes work; lo-fi when prototyping
Obsessed with
- How to design refusal states in conversational AI products — currently the most underdesigned part of the field. Where AI confidently says "I don't know" is more important than where it confidently answers.
- The "system as contract" framing — design systems are technical contracts, not preferences. Consequence: deviation is a bug, not an opinion.
- The boundary between AI-generated and human-committed in regulated workflows. AI surfaces signals; humans commit decisions. The interface is where this contract lives.
- Whether senior PDs in 2026 should code or just be code-fluent. Currently leaning toward "ship in code if you can; understand it deeply if you can't."
Open to
- Senior Product Designer / Design Engineering / Design Systems Lead roles — India + GCC (Dubai / Abu Dhabi specifically of interest)
- Advisory engagements on AI-assisted design workflows, design system architecture, or regulated-domain UX
- Conversations with founders / CDOs / CPOs building AI-native products in healthcare, banking, or government
Not doing right now
- Conferences. Heads-down phase.
- Twitter/X. Still on it but rarely posting; LinkedIn is the primary channel.
- New consulting work outside the PwC engagement.
